It all began in 2010 when I moved from Greece to the UK—and suddenly found myself expected to cook (an important element of my culture). I knew how Greek food tasted, but I had never actually made it myself. No techniques, no timings... and definitely none of the “secrets” every Greek cook seems to hold. I had to learn everything from scratch—while adjusting to a new country, new ingredients, and eventually, raising my daughter between two cultures.
Over time, the idea for My Greek Kitchen began to take shape. Slowly, quietly, it matured. I wanted to share my passion for Greek cuisine—but not just through recipes. I wanted to help people understand how to make Greek food part of everyday life, even in a British kitchen.
One thing that struck me over the years living in UK is how vegetables are often seen as something we should eat—for health. In Greek cuisine, they are so much more than that. Vegetables are not just a side or a garnish—they are the heart of the meal. A main dish, a salad, a meze plate... the vegetables lead.
Adopting that mindset is the first step toward becoming a home chef in your own Greek kitchen. It’s not about rules—it’s about rhythm, warmth, and joy.
This is my kitchen—and I’d love for you to step inside. 💙
